Marine Girl
_Terri Hong is 19 years old and has just signed up to the United States Marine Corps and will deploy to boot camp in
September.
She is going through the Marine Corps ‘Delayed Entry Program,’ in which will help get her fit before she leaves to boot camp in a couple of months.
The ratio of men to women in the marines is 10-1. She is the only girl
among the crew of guys she has been training with for the past month, but she also comes out last in most training
obstacles.
Hong is not 100 percent ready for the recruit training and she hopes that in a couple of weeks, the
delayed entry program will help her get ready for the "rigorous" marine training.
And while Hong may be going to college and has a social life, her main priority right now is the marines.
I wanted to capture the life of a marine before they head to boot camp and change after going through a life changing experience.
